Welcome to my Guide to Ibiza. Ibiza is a well-known island located in the Mediterranean Sea, off the eastern coast of Spain. Ibiza is famous for its vibrant and energetic nightlife. The island is home to numerous world-renowned nightclubs, such as Pacha, Amnesia, and Ushuaïa, where top DJs from around the world perform. But there is even more to this beautiful island than just the nightlife. Let me take you along while I share the top experiences and Must See Attractions.
Best Time to visit Ibiza?
When you want to visit Ibiza really depends on the experiences you want to have. If you want to have a beach vacation with a lively night life, summer is the best time for you. In case you want to enjoy a calmer and less crowded Ibiza the spring and autumn might be best for you. But here is an overview of all the seasons.
Summer Season (June to September)
This is the peak tourist season in Ibiza when the island is bustling with visitors. The weather is hot and sunny, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 35°C (77°F to 95°F). The famous clubs and beach parties are in full swing during this time, making it ideal for partygoers and those seeking a vibrant nightlife experience. However, it’s worth noting that the island can be crowded and accommodation prices tend to be higher.
Spring and Autumn Seasons (April to May and October)
These seasons offer a balance between good weather and fewer crowds. The temperatures are still pleasant, ranging from 18°C to 25°C (64°F to 77°F). The island is less crowded, making it suitable for those who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere. During spring, you may witness blooming flowers and lush greenery, while autumn offers beautiful sunsets and a quieter ambiance.
Winter Season (November to March)
Ibiza experiences mild winters, with temperatures averaging around 10°C to 15°C (50°F to 59°F). This period is considered the low season, and many hotels, restaurants, and clubs may be closed or have limited services. However, if you’re interested in exploring the island’s natural beauty, enjoying peaceful walks along the beaches, and experiencing a quieter side of Ibiza, visiting during the winter months can be a good option.
How long should you stay?
I have stayed for 5 days in June and once for 3 day in July. We had the chance to explore the old city of Ibiza, go to all the famous parties and even made a daytrip to Formentera, and island close to Ibiza. The length of your stay depends on your budget and the experiences you want to have. Here are a few point to consider.
If you’re primarily interested in experiencing the nightlife and party scene, a stay of 3 to 5 days could be a good length.
If you’re looking to enjoy the beautiful beaches, unwind, and relax, you may want to extend your stay to around 5 to 7 days. This would give you time to explore different beaches, take part in water activities, and simply enjoy the coastal scenery.
Ibiza offers more than just nightlife and beaches. If you’re interested in exploring the island’s cultural and natural attractions, such as the historic old town of Dalt Vila, picturesque villages, and stunning viewpoints, consider staying for a week or more. This duration would allow you to immerse yourself in the island’s diverse offerings and discover its hidden gems.
Also worth mentioning, Ibiza is well-connected to other Balearic Islands, such as Formentera, Mallorca, and Menorca. If you wish to include day trips or island hopping in your itinerary, you might want to plan for a longer stay, around 10 days or more. This will give you enough time to explore Ibiza as well as venture out to neighboring islands.
8 Must See things in Ibiza
Dalt Vila
Dalt Vila, meaning “Upper Town” in Catalan, is the historic quarter of Ibiza Town and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main attraction of Dalt Vila is its impressive fortified walls. These walls, built during the 16th century, surround the old town and provide panoramic views of the city, harbor, and the Mediterranean Sea.
The streets of Dalt Vila are a maze of narrow, cobblestone lanes lined with whitewashed houses, charming squares, and historic buildings. The architecture reflects the island’s rich history, with influences from various cultures, including Phoenicians, Romans, Moors, and Christians.
At the top of Dalt Vila stands the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Snows (also known as Ibiza Cathedral or Santa Maria d’Eivissa). This Gothic-style cathedral dates back to the 14th century and is an iconic landmark of the island.
Within the old town walls, you’ll find a range of boutique shops, souvenir stores, and traditional craft shops. There are also numerous restaurants and cafes offering a variety of cuisines, from local Spanish dishes to international flavors.
Es Vedrà
Es Vedrà is a small rocky island located off the southwestern coast of Ibiza. It is renowned for its striking natural beauty. It is a uninhabited island with steep cliffs rising approximately 400 meters (1,300 feet) above the sea, creating a dramatic and picturesque landscape. The island is part of the Cala d’Hort Nature Reserve.
All viewpoints along the coast of Ibiza, particularly from areas such as Cala d’Hort and Torre des Savinar, offer breathtaking views of Es Vedrà. The sunset views are particularly famous, as the island is bathed in golden light, creating a magical atmosphere
It’s important to note that Es Vedrà itself is not open to the public, as it is a protected area and a nature reserve. You can admire the island from viewpoints along the coast, but access to the island itself is restricted.

Las Salinas Natural Park
The park is named after the salt flats (salinas) that are a prominent feature of the area. These salt flats have been in operation for centuries and have played a significant role in the island’s history and economy.1

These trails provide an opportunity to observe the flora, fauna, and birdlife while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. One of the highlights of Las Salinas Natural Park is the presence of flamingos. Hippy Market at Punta Arabí
The Hippy Market is located in the town of Es Canar on the eastern coast of Ibiza. You can catch it every Wednesday between April and October, typically from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It has a rich history that dates back to the 1970s when the hippie movement flourished on the island. It began as a gathering place for artisans, travelers, and bohemian souls to sell and exchange their crafts and goods
The market showcases a wide array of items including clothing, accessories, jewelry, artwork, crafts, home decor, and souvenirs but also offers a lively and festive atmosphere with live music performances, street entertainers, and traditional drum circles. You can enjoy the sounds of local musicians and performers while browsing the stalls
The market features various food stalls and refreshment stands offering a range of culinary delights. You can find both local and international cuisine, including vegetarian and vegan options. It’s a great opportunity to taste local specialties and indulge in a wide variety of flavors.
Formentera
Formentera is famous for its breathtaking beaches, which are often compared to those of the Caribbean. The island boasts white sandy shores, shallow waters, and a peaceful atmosphere. Some of the popular beaches include Playa de Ses Illetes, Playa de Migjorn, and Cala Saona.

It sits right on the waterfront, offering unobstructed views of the stunning Mediterranean Sea. As the sun begins to set, the atmosphere at the café becomes electric. People gather to witness the mesmerizing colors of the sky as the sun dips below the horizon
