Planning a European trip? With this list you can explore Europe’s best cities for travelers, with highlights, tips, and must-see spots.
🇬🇧 1. London, England
London is one of my when not my favorite city in Europe and I think the perfect city for beginners. The transportations system is very easy and manageable. London has a ton of free museums and sites to see and of course is a shopping paradise. One big plus is also that London has flight connections from all over the world.

🇫🇷 2. Paris, France
Paris is a very compact and walkable city. It is packed with bucket list sights and has an incredible food and coffee scene. You could spend multiple days going from café to café
Paris also has some of the most iconic museums in the world and a stunningly beautiful architecture.
The Must-see things are the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum and the Montmartre.
🇳🇱 3. Amsterdam, Netherlands
Amsterdam, due to it being so flat is very bike friendly. It also has great public transport. The locals are very friendly and everyone speaks English. 🇮🇹 4. Rome, Italy
Rome is a city where history unfolds around every corner, from ancient ruins and Renaissance masterpieces to grand churches and hidden cobblestone streets. It’s also a paradise for food lovers, with unforgettable pasta dishes, rich espresso, and gelato that you can enjoy at one of the many lively piazzas.
If you visit Rome and have enough time there are a lot of options for lovely day trips. From charming hill towns, vineyards or costal experiences you will find something for your taste.

If you love the Mediterranean vibes, Barcelona is perfect for you. Barcelona offers a unique Gaudi architecture where colorful mosaics, flowing lines, and imaginative designs turn the city into an open-air art gallery. With the sun-soaked beaches and vibrant urban energy Barcelona creates a lifestyle that feels both relaxed and exciting.

🇨🇿 6. Prague, Czech Republic
Prague has a fairytale like old town. You instantly feel like you are in another time. Prague is also affordable compared to other cities in Europe what make it a popular destination for students. The thing you have to see are Charles Bridge and Prague Castle.
🇦🇹 7. Vienna, Austria
Vienna is the home of the Schloss Schönbrunn where the famous Princess Sissi lived. But this is not the only thing I like about Vienne. It is also clean, elegant and I felt very safe. The city has a lot of world class coffeehouses that are perfect for a chilled afternoon with coffee and cake.

🇭🇺 8. Budapest, Hungary
Budapest is one of those cities that instantly steals your heart. With its stunning architecture, affordable prices compared to other European hotspots, and buzzing nightlife, it’s the perfect place for both adventure and relaxation. One of the absolute must-dos here is soaking in Budapest’s famous thermal baths. When it comes to sightseeing, don’t miss Fisherman’s Bastion for unreal views over the city, and make time for the iconic Széchenyi Baths for the ultimate Budapest experience.
IT 9. Mailand Italy
Mailand is a shoppers Paradise. You find everything from second-hand to high street to luxury shops. You can spend your time just walking around the beautiful streets and looking for the best deals. But Mailand has more to offer, they have a variety of different museums that are worth checking out and very beautiful architecture. I think I don’t even need to mention how good the Italian food is.

🇵🇹 10. Lisbon, Portugal
Lisbon is one of those cities that’s impossible not to fall in love with. It’s affordable, full of sunshine, and the locals are incredibly welcoming. Think colorful tiled buildings, scenic viewpoints overlooking the ocean, and a laid-back atmosphere that’s perfect for slow, relaxed travel. Wander through the charming streets of Alfama, snap photos at the iconic Belém Tower, and hop on Tram 28 for one of the most scenic rides in Europe.

Europe has a lot of different cities with different vibes and things to see. Also, a lot of them are well connected with trains.
